WFFE Events

At least three times a year WFFE presents events that contribute to discussions and education around important environmental issues in our region.  These events are in the form of both informal roundtables and an Environmental Issues Slam.  Informal roundtables to bring together civic leaders, scientific experts, and interested individuals for discussion of current environmental topics. The Environmental Issues Slam presents seven important environmental issues in the region allowing audience members to decide on which issues are most urgent.

Upcoming Events:

Tuesday November 15, 2011

The Great Environmental Issues Slam!

6:30 - 7:00 p.m. - Socializing and Carb-loading

7:00 – 8:00 p.m. - Environmental Issues Slam

Location: The REI Flagship Store

222 Yale Ave. North, Downtown Seattle

The Event: Seven local movers and shakers who are passionate about an environmental issue will each have 5 minutes to convince us that it’s critically important for the future of all Washingtonians that we tackle THEIR issue NOW.

Audience members will vote on the most persuasive presentation and the winner will earn the right to designate a nonprofit group as recipient of a $1,000 grant from the Washington Foundation for the Environment for work on their issue.  The second place finisher will receive a $500 grant.  Come watch the competition and help determine the winner.
